Hello,

I recently used my spare tire. After it's use I put it back in the trunk and now I am noticing a grease leaking from under the trunk area. Not sure if the leak is related to the spare tire or not. (The picture shows 2 spots on the floor because I moved the care yesterday) Can anyone advice me? Thank you.

 

Sarah, not to ask a silly question, but do you store other stuff in the well with the spare tire like a quart of oil, some brake fluid, etc? Odds are, if you do, you managed to get one of those bottles pinched between the tire and the sheet metal and you are getting some fluid out of the bottle. What you show as leaking is nothing more than a drain for the spare tire well so if your trunk seal fails, the water will not build up in your trunk. Probably best to remove the spare tire and see where you are getting the fluid from.

Apparently, when the guy replaced my spare, there was a bottle of Armor ALL Protectant in there that was crushed and subsequently spilled. Go figure! So happy to know that it was nothing major at all. Thank you for your help.
