Lean bank code, brake booster vacuum test hold time
I am getting the dreaded Lean bank 1 and Lean bank 2 codes P0174, P00171 and P1000 codes. Car has 110k miles on it give or take.
Have dosed the running engine with carb clean, then better than half a can of either based starting fluid (don't judge i know) with no increase in idle. Have tried a few times.
A year ago a Brake booster was replaced with one from O'Reilly Auto parts, which was a mechanical failure not a check engine or vacuum issue.
After shutting off the car how long should the brake booster hold vacuum?
I have a small hand held vacuum pump, and pumped probably 20 times plus, but can not get booster to hold vacuum. Then i tried applying vacuum by sucking on the hose but did not hold vacuum.
Time being more of an issue than price of the parts, and everything 17 years old, i replaced the following in the last week or so. All good name after market parts.
1. front upper and lower O2 sensors. Denso and Bosch(rear upper and lower were replaced 6 months ago)
2. Cleaned the MAF sensor, then ran 2 cans of Sea Foam and one can of Lucas injector cleaner threw three tank full of gas from three different gas stations. For the past four year i have been running 89 octane gas in her, but recently switched to high test to see if that was the issue
3. replaced MAF sensor with new one from Blue Streak
4. New fuel line filter, old seemed light and gas leaked quickly out of both sides.
5. new air filter by Fram
6. new brake booster line do not recall make.
7. PVC valve by Import Direct
Want to try a smoke test. I heard you can take a puff of cigar smoke and blow it through the brake booster vacuum line. Does anyone have another suggestion?

Spend time reading up on this site about the codes. No offence but you're throwing parts at it instead of that. Follow Thermo's advice in your other posts about this same issue.
BTW multiple posts about the same issue just annoy the good people...

Am I to assume by your reply that the good citizens of Yorkshire, England are less educated and polished than those of us across the pond, or were you just having a bad day?
I will address every one of your concerns, even though it appears you weren't willing to extend me the same courtesy.
1. Spend time reading up on this site about the codes.
I assumed that it would be apparent by my description of work done, that I have read up on the codes, yet have not found a suitable answer.
2. No offence but you're throwing parts at it instead of that.
If the car was a year old and had 10,000 miles your "throwing parts at it" might be a true statement. Fast forward 17 years and 110k miles all of the parts replaced, would be considered wear items, at least around here. I also went a step further stating time is more valuable to me than the price of these items. Sorry, but I am not going to test, clean or adjust anything that old and reinstall.
3. Follow Thermo's advice in your other posts about this same issue.
Follow Thermo's advice, I always do. Without people as bright and knowledgeable as Thermo and Dell most of us here would be lost. In fact I redid my ground cables for the second time in one year because he mentioned it.
As far as "in your other posts about the same issue", I can not find posts anywhere on this site regarding any of my current lean issues. What I have done, is reply to other people's questions and concerns about running injector cleaner through their cars. I posted that I have used a few product chasing a different problem with no ill effect. That was the point where I believe Thermo jumped in and mentioned the big 3. I didn't know what that acronym referred to, so I searched it instead of making him explain it to me. Thank you again Thermo.
Once again, I think this proves that I do search before asking.
4. BTW multiple posts about the same issue just annoy the good people...
What I believe most people find to be more annoying, is replies from others not willing to take the time to read an initial post, and not replying with an answer to their original question.
I am currently assuming one of two things. One, you will shoot back another derogatory email attacking me or my spelling, or two, will apologize with a phrase similar to "I was having a bad day". I am hoping for the later if given a choice.
Cheers,
Ronk
