Default leaper

can the leaper be repaired? my sons friends at school have twisted his backwards everyday for a while now. (I just found out about this today) His spring is good and the leaper is good. The wire is broken so it does not remain attached now. is there a repair kit or do I have to buy a whole new one? If so can I get the European badge instead? I will have a talk with his friends about this as well. 04 Xtpe.

Take a look here https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-14/fix-your-hood-ornament-$2-10-a-35387/

(I'm not sure why the link doesn't work, but if you copy and paste it you'll get there)

Was a lot easier to fix than I thought. Got some braided wire and an aluminum pinch fitting from ace hardware. Took the mounting plate off, restrung it and crimped the fitting in a vice. Done. Stronger than new. thanks guys. bob
