Default LH Engine Valve Cover

Hi everyone,

I have to remove the left head engine valve cover to remove the water pump housing (destroyed stud), the question I have is, will I have to replace the valve cover's gasket and/or apply any sealants? Or can I remove the cover and put it back? Just don't want to have any issues in the future...

safe bet is to replace the gasket. They are a 2 piece set. Inner and outer. The inner ones leak into the plug wells and short out the plugs. Best bet is to put new and have the peace of mind it was done right.

Good Luck,
The Dr!
