Default Lights on, Low Brake fluid and Brake light

I have a 2003 x-type 2.5 manual and the low brake fluid light stays on. I've checked the fluid and it's full and have taken the reservoir off, cleaned it and light stays on. The brake light is also staying on. Any suggestions on what I should check next?

burton, odds are, the brake fluid light is most likely the sensor in the reservoir. Fairly easy to replace. As for the brake light, odds are, that is the switch in the center console not releasing, making the light remain on. Access the center console and find the electric switch that the handle makes contact with. Spray the switch with some WD-40 and then see what you have at that point.

Low brake fluid light and brake light? They should be one light and seen if handbrake is applied or brake fluid level low.
If the plug on the brake reservoir is nice and tight and clean then you could just remove that plug and with metal clip put two pins together and check if that light turns off, if yes then you have a faulty sensor, if it stays on then your problem lies elsewhere.
