Limp mode x type 2.0 diesel
Help please
car playing up.
Glow plug light flashing, no power, limp mode etc.
Fault codes according to AA P132B (boost pressure implausible). P0100 which relates to MAP sensor.
Replaced MAP sensor, fuel filter and AA man ran load of EGR cleaner through system. EGR and manifold cleaned once a year anyway.
Turbo may be suspect when I disconnect the arm thing from the actuator it is stuck solid. I am assuming that as the actuator linkage bit is fairly light weight there should be some play whilst trying to move the turbo leaver thing by hand. This presumably suggests that the turbo is full of crap (car done 108,000).
What is the most effective and easy way of cleaning out the turbo (have read about the Mr Muscle technique and it is practical for me to do this), will everything else work ok once turbo is degunked and is there anything else I can check for example make sure that the clogged up turbo hasn't knackered the actuator itself?
Please can anyone offer any practical advice other than don't buy a Diesel?
Thank you

When I bought my 2.2d se last year I gave it a full service.
This was amongst other things, all 4 filters, synthetic oils for engine and transmission, as well as clean egr valve as well as the inlet manifold.
I have also done the m8 bolt mod on the exhaust manifold, after I checked the turbo vanes by disconnecting the actuator arm, the arm was a little stiff when pushing it back toward the bulkhead (the car was running fine with no limp mode).
If your turbo vanes have seized, you may have damaged your actuator as the gears and motor get stressed (if your actuator is electronic).
If you have a vacuum operated actuator, that will be ok.
If you decide to do the m8 bolt access mod, I would suggest you need a 4mm drill bit and then a 6.8mm bit.
Take your time with it, the casting is approx. 20-25mm thick !
Your bolt length can be less of course.
After I sprayed the oven cleaner in for approx. 10 seconds, and left it sit for approx 20 mins, the turbo actuator arm became completely free from end to end.
The 90 degree angled chuck is needed to get in there, unless you have a very stubby drill !
Also I had to remove the fuel filter to get enough room.
