I have a 2002 Jag 3.0 x type. It's codes are p300, p302, 1314, 1316, 1000. After reading a lot of threads I replaced the coil and spark plug I thought was # 2. looking at the engine I replaced the coil on the front side closes to the belt on drivers side. I still have the same problem and after reading more threads I am unsure if I replaced #2 or #6. can anyone please clarify cylinder numbers for me. Thanks

No problem. For a moment, I thought you were referring to the skinny belt next to the battery. That's for the water pump.
The "front" of an engine is always where you'll find the serpentine belt and timing chain(s) or timing belt(s). On our Jag's you can see one of the two timing chain through the hole were you add oil to the engine - on the US passenger side. The "rear" of the engine bolts to the transmission - on the US driver side.
