Default Lost my key for the X-type

Hi members, I have lost the only key I had left for my Jaguar X-type model 2002. How much would it cost me to get a pair of two new programmed keys ready to use. Any contacts for a person to help out please.

I doubt you will find many people here that know the costs of Jaguar parts in Uganda. Good luck sir!

How does one lose both sets of keys?...If you have a dealer, he can order you a set..they'll need the VIN to go on.

Check these before getting anything done by them, though at least they are local

Malara Online - Auto Diagnostics Centre Uganda

If they can programme keys but you need to supply them, post back

hlwanga: That is very expensive. Find out what Mh the keys work on in your area and see if you can get them from ebay or a similar site. Then take them somewhere they can sync them to your car.

santer: Good find!!

Again, Find out what MHz the keys work on in your area and see if you can get them from ebay or a similar site. I got spares from China(ebay) and they work perfect. OEMs are made in China anyway

As post 9

The PM should say 315 or 433 mhz

Let us know which and someone will help you find one

The car was imported from the UK so would say the frequency is 433 mhz but would appreciate the thoughts of others.

If it is 433 mhz then does this seem a good option? It lists all the parts but also says shell.

Jaguar in the US uses the 315MHz, but Canada does not. It can get very confusing!

433 MHz

315 MHz

Just in case someone else has lost a key, if in Pittsburgh, I can highly recommend Pop-a-lock. They cut me a new key from the code Jaguar provided and a spare for my second x-type. They can program transponders. Prices are very reasonable.
