Default loud clunking noise

2002 x type automatic 2.5 v6 awd :was experiencing loud clunking noise as ai drive. After close inspection i discovered that it was the drive shaft bearing. Can the drive shaft bearing at the front be repaired , or would i have to replace it with a different. thanks in advance.

I believe it can, most bearings can be replaced one way or another. I had the same clunk in my 03 2.5L. I also thought it was the drive shaft. Turns out the Jaguar dealer told me it was the bushings for the front and rear sway bars. The wanted over $800 to fix, my neighbor who is a Ford mechanic did it for $200 plus the cost of the bushings, so $250 all together. He said they were a challenge but no more clunk. The drive shaft was OK. Rub some grease, thick grease on it, if it doesn't go away then it is the bearing, if it goes away check the bushings.
