RE: low beam lights not working
Do you have HID or halogen? I'm assuming halogen since you replaced bulbs. If you didn't get the bulbs from a Jag dealer you may want to double check and make sure they aren't blown again before spending a lot of time on the problem. X-types dont like aftermarket bulbs. The charging voltage on startup can be as high as 15.7 volts and a lot of bulbs dont like that high voltage. The Jag bulbs are special.

If you have a DVOM you can ohm the bulb that looks good to be sure it is. I've seen plenty that look good but aren't. You can also check for power at the headlamp connector with the DVOM. Did either of the connectors look melted or were they hard to get off of the bulbs? jaguar makes a repair kit if the terminals are melted or damaged.

hey, dont mean to hijack ur thread but i have the same issue...my connector has melted on the passenger side so i just ended up having a local shop connect the bulb without the connector (kinda difficult to explain). It has worked for a while but its broken again...where can i get this repair kit because my dealer wants me to buy an entire housing for like $600 and i refuse to pay that money to fix essentially a broken lightbulb.

I can't speak for all dealers but we have the jaguar repair terminals in the parts department for anyone to buy, they are $25 for the pair and a pair is required for each light. It converts the early style one piece connector to the later model 2 piece style and ends all melting. If you can't get them at the parts counter ask one of the techs in the dealer as I'm sure they know all about them. If they don't, find a new dealer for service.

Repair Kit
Hello -
I have the same issue..broken bulb with a melted socket...
If I go to an auto repairshop like Straus, would I be able to get this auto repair kit? Would I be able to repair it myself (considering I don't know anything about cars) or should I have the autoshop put it in? If so, around how much do you think is the reasonable cost?
Thank you!!
