Default low temperature outside

Whenever it is 40 degrees or under outside my display on the speedometer says “low temperature outside”. Which is fine. The thing is, it does not go away unless I hit the reset button on the left side of the dash. Is this “low temperature outside” supposed to go away on its own?

Perhaps when it isn't 'low temperature outside' anymore, it will stop displaying it. [sm=bangbang.gif] j/k ya. I have noticed, for instance, that my 'Lights Off" message likes to stay on when I drive under an overpass u-turn (for instance), and then proceed back into the daylight...sometimes takes a minute or two to update it's computer reading. I am guess the temp sensor may take longer than that before it will go off on it's own. More x-types to chime in soon, I presume.

It has to see big temp differential for it to change.

It looks like a snow flake on the instrument pack. JVegas, there is a TSB for the light staying on all the time. It is a reflash.

how cold is it supposed to be to activate this message? I have been out in the mid thirties before and I haven't noticed any message or lights yet.

LOL!!! I hear ya ancient...I can't wait for Texas avg temp of at least 60's but appears mostly 70's. My message center appears the entire time the temp is below 40 degrees though i can't get it off til it hits 41 degrees fahrenheit. It's annoying as Michigan has mostly been under 40...heck under 20 for the last 4 months, I think when I slip and fall every time I go out to my car because there is ice all over the place, I realize it's freaking cold! LOL!

dude the "low temp outside" is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo annoying. I too have to hit reset everytime.

the thing is I know its cold I JUST CAME FROM OUTSIDE TO GET IN THE CAR, i dont need a reminder that my little buddies just crawled up inside me, i figured that out when the door on the car was frozen shut, i slipped on the ice getting to the car, my nipples pointing the dirrection the robber went, my boogers freezing, and the 12 idiots that said "cold enough for ya". Man i hate when people say that.

dont get me wrong i think its a great feature, if it would tell me when the temp dropped 5 or more since i turned it on. but when i start the car it comes on, i hit the rest, then if the temp drops 1 yes 1 dgree the message comes up, i hit reset, then another 2 degrees and rese again. i get to the store, come back to my car and have to do it all over again.

Jvegas i feel your pain but spring is close and the reset will only be used to at each fill up

ok my rant is over please retun to what you were doing
