Default Lower control arm

I was wondering if anyone on here has replaced their rear lower control arm? I was taking a look at it today and I found that the inner bolt on the bottom looks like it was spot welded on to the bracket. I was wondering if anyone has the same thing if so what did you do? Do I just try to untighten the outter bolt?

Thanks
James

To better help you, are you talking about the lower control arm that holds your coil, or the control arm that's mounted on the rear hub but located closest to the front of the car?

The one that's mounted closer to the front of the car the little 5 inch arm that's smaller.

I replaced mine and wrote this thread about it: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...rite-up-68023/

I forget if mine was spot welded or not, but I know I had to pound the crap outta it to get the bolts out. I think it had to have had a spot weld on the back come to think of it.

Do you have to break that I assume? To get the bolt off.

Noxparadise, on my car, only the nut is spot welded in place. The bolt itself is not welded at all and is capable of being removed from the car with no issues. If the bolt is spot welded in place, then best advice that I could tell you is to get your hands on an angle grinder and remove that spot weld. A tool like a pneumatic grinder/cutter (I call them a nukie grinder) would be ideal as it allows you to hold the tool to the outside of the car and then slide the blade down the flat of the bolt.

Ok good good I see that the nut was spot welded I did not see where the bolt was welded. I hope this fixes the camber issue with my inner tires being worn down. I see tons and tons of people's issue with the tires being worn down.
