After reading a thread or two regarding wheel lug nuts I have a question. I changed out my Jag nuts with washers for an after market set of black lug nuts without washers. They look good and I've had no probems with them.
Are my wheels going to fall off on the freeway one day or am I ok?

 

I believe the washers are required.

 

I agree with fitting OE nuts,

I have read the comment on the web that that OE Jaguar wheels need the OE Jaguar nuts. This is because most alloys have a steel insert around the bolt holes. Jaguar ones don't so they need the big shoulder to spread the load out and stop it damaging the wheel.

Can others confirm this?

 

Sounds about right. I'll go and buy some steel washers this weekend.

Iv seen a set of ford wheels destroyed by using the wrong nuts.

 

Washers suitably seated. The marks are grease not dirt.
