Default Maf sensor

Hi you guys.
Read lots of comments recently on MAF sensors. Mainly on how to clean.
Thought what the heck mine has never been cleaned in 65,000 miles. Decided to give it a go. Apart from a slight hesitation when taking off I had no problems with my car. Smooth tick over and exceptional fuel consumption. I can get over 60mpg on a long motorway run. "it's a 2.2 diesel"
Got myself a can of dedicated cleaner and cleaned the thing. On my diesel the MAF is on top of the intake tube and two screws has it off.
It's a different car. No hesitation and a much more sensitive throttle.
Can I suggest you clean yours. it just may surprize you but be careful it's a delicate bit of kit!
