i have just replaced main beam globes on 53 reg x type and one is now pointing up at the tree tops, any suggestions?

 

Hi normp, you might want to check out the FAQ in the X-Type forum. In particular, there's a list of posts about headlights, or you can search the X-Type forum.

It could be that you simply need to re-aim your headlights, but more likely you have a broken support post, common on the X-Type. Both conditions are covered thoroughly in the X-Type forum.

Thank you for the response, perhaps I'm not too clever with my searches but I couldn't find the required information on the forum. Are the posts on the end of the adjusting screws? In addition, the bulbs that I fitted were H.I.D. 100w, purchased on e-bay, and I am now concerned about wire burn out, is this a real concern? My wife's car, endless $$$$ if her lights go out while she's driving. Again, thank you.
