Default Manual gearbox oil change

2002 xtype 2.1 manual
After changing manual gearbox oil, car is not on the road yet couple things left to do, want to change the gearbox oil but I can't drive it on the road , If the engine is left idling will that still heat up the gearbox oil? So that I can drain it more efficiently ? Thanks

Only the input shaft will be turning and it will move around some of the oil. Placing a small heater by the trans would heat it up better. Just let it drain overnight.

Lots of discussion on the auto transmission oil change, but regarding the manual gearbox...

- Is there a clearance issue getting the hex wrench in to the filler plug (6 speed 2.2D)?
- I assume given a completely unknown history - I should refill using the "fill till it overflows from the filler port" method and forget about how much comes out?
- Since the car will not be parked on a perfectly level surface (and the above point depends on that), my plan is to jack the appropriate corner(s) to achieve a level... but where is "level" on the car? Left to right seems pretty simple with a few options, but what surface or what two points front to back would be considered level?

Thanks,
