Default Is the metal Keyfob button replaceable?

Hi, Has anybody ever replaced the button on top of the metal key without changing anything else? Is it part of the metal key? The button seems to spring up and down and turn with key when it pivots out. I couldn't seem to separate the key from the top half of the remote after removing the bottom half where the battery lives.
The green Jag logo has worn off and I wondered if that little button can be replaced alone? I know the XJ has an all metal Jag symbol that won't wear like the painted green one did. Any experience with this?
Just didn't want to buy a whole new top half and have to cut a new key just to get a new button. The eBay top halves are blank chrome and generic with no growler face.
Thanks

The blank ones without a growler are copies, not OEM stuff.

Regarding the key construction & button/blade change, see this thread for informative photos: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...uctions-90880/
