For anyone who likes murder who dunnits in the Agatha Christie tradition with a sporadic sprinkling of scenes of an X being whipped around english country lanes, you can do worse than settle in for an episode of Midsomer Murders from season 9 to around 13 or 14. The main character drives an X. I always used to turn this programme off when I was in my 20's and 30's but now I am over 40 and therefore officially "past it" (says my daughter, who would know), I've started to enjoy it. Weird. Available on Netflix.

This is a broad generalization, but many "B-Rate" made-for-TV shows will have the crook (the "culprit"?) driving a Jaguar - usually the pretty woman, who is usually very very rich, and somehow very very very murderously insane.

(I think there are a lot of "B-Rate" movie producers in Hollywood who use their own car in the production of these movies. Makes me want to smoke a big, fat cigar when I drive my X-Type around, and ask pretty women if they want me to make them a "star"!)

Is a nice change of pace to know there is a "good-guy" protagonist out there driving the Jag!

Thanx for the tip!

PS - repeat after me: "Thank god there is cheesy daytime television programming, else wise I might have to go outside and mow my lawn or something!"

PPS - Danny: consider giving your Jag to your daughter now, you know: before you are too old. Nothing funks up the interior of a car worse than the smell of some old guy!

Cheers Bruce. my daughter won't have her licence for a while yet but when she does, and if she drives anything like her Mum, the phrase that comes to mind when thinking of handing over the keys is something along the line ...."from my cold, dead hands"....!!!!!

Ps - where did that photo come from? What a classy chassis!
