Default Minor interior repair

I have a 2005 X Type VDP that I just bought today. There is a piece of trim missing. Hoping someone can tell me what it is.

If you sit in the back seat and look at the back of the center console, it is a piece of something just above the ashtray that is missing. Maybe 2 to 3 inches wide and tall. There is an unfinished surface with remnants of glue, but no clue what is supposed to be above the ash tray

Also, are there any power ports other than the front cigarette lighter?

Just an idea but it could be leftover velcro residue that the previous owner was trying to remove before the sale of the vehicle. And no there are no ports found above the tray.

Please post a picture so we can give you the best advice. Sometimes VDP's have custom trim hence me asking for a picture.

Part number 19 here is listed as rear of armrest

As to power supply, mine has the cigar socket switched to permanent live but not sure if the relay mentioned here allows for a feed off that

Aux Power Supply - Permanent Live to Switched Live

Apparently there is switched live behind the glovebox

That certainly looks to be about the right size and material. Not sure why it would be glued on though. There is no hole there, just an unfinished surface, so why glue in a piece that already matches? It looks more like there was wood veneer, or a chrome piece.

The downside is that it simply slips on, rather than being glued. I've only seen one X-type in person that still has that cover...and mine isn't one of them.

I wonder if Paul has a few?

Looks the first part of your post may have gotten cut off. What does the cover look like?

I may have a few of them if people are looking for them. PM me and let me know your interior color, and I will get back to you as soon as I can

Thanks,
The Dr!

Your "missing piece" is just a a piece of plastic (as pictured.)
I suppose it is intended to cover those bolts.
Mine fell off too, but I still have it, and it keeps falling off, so its in the glove box.
I thought about gluing it, but didn't.
The glue residue you are seeing is probably for that reason.
