Default Steering Wheel Material Repair?

The leather on the seats can be repaired using filler and colour spray etc,
Is there anyway I can repair this?

Hi trosty,

It is possible to repair that kind of damage with Leatherique crack filler, but I don't think you will be happy with the results. Some upholstery restoration shops can replace the leather, but I think it would cost a small fortune. Your best bet may be to find a salvaged steering wheel in better condition, and if necessary, give it a refreshening with Leatherique dye. That's the route I opted for on our '93, and I was very happy with the results:

Thanks for the info. I've done some searching on ebay. Not one to be found in my colour. I will keep my eyes open for a newer one.

A gentleman in N California under the moniker DonsXJ8 had his wrapped. Turned out very nice and ran him about $350. He may be able to give you some advice.

I have experience with CraftCustoms Jaguar Steering Wheels and Wood Dashes - Craft Customs in Texas. They did a full leather job with extra 1/16" pad. $320 . Excellent work. Quality leather.

What a great coincidence trosty, your being next door to them. Here's some shots of there work, had it done a year ago, still great shape. Was originally with wood trim.

My steering wheel looks almost exact as yours @trosty .
Were you able to fix it in the end?

Hi,
I did not. I had to sell the car and buy a Ford Taurus.
I am now looking for a nice XKR.
