Default misfiring, performance limited, battery died

Hello, I have a 2010 Jaguar XF 5.0 litre and suddenly the car started misfiring and a performance limitation light flashed on the dash. Oddly, the battery died completely within 48 hours of this occurring. Has anyone had a similar experience? Thanks.

I would start by checking the battery, have it tested and if bad, replace. Then check everything else, do a road test, etc. and see if any warnings come back.

Also - you've posted in the X-Type forum, one of the admins will come move it to the XF forum.

First you would get a lot more responses to your questions if you posted in the XF sectionof the forum. Link below. The members there have the same car and would be most familiar with it.

Definitely get the battery tested and or replaced. A low or weak battery will cause the electronics to do all kinds of crazy things. Then take it to anywhere they do free code reading. Most auto parts stores will do it for free and get the codes read. The post the numbers.

Battery probably caused the misfires.
