missing features for such an electronic car.. I wonder how Jag missed these?
some of the things I miss from other cars: (older cars too)
Oil Change indicator
Oil Level indicator ( do we have this?)
Power windows dont work after ignition shut off (remote global close would cure this)
Bulb failure indicator (strange since there is the light control module there)
Rear reading lamps
The gas cap unlocking lever is sooo cheezy - feel like it is a economy car Should unlock with the doors ala BMW
Im sure i missed a few.
I also wonder what the point of the fuel economy reading is on the trip computer when it is way wrong.. i can guess in my sleep better than that silly readout. It is highly optomistic.on a long highway drive I reset the thing with a full tank and drive till empty. the readout says 8.9 l/100km, but it takes 50 litres for about 450km.

Not so much lazy.. but when you have a car that is 14 years older and has these convenience features you sortafigure the other car companies would copy it.
I mean I can check themileage for oil changes but BMW monitors engine speed, engine temp, and elapsed time to make an intelligent decision on when to change it. It is not so easy to do that yourself.
the window thing is just that with a stick shift I often roll into my parking space and switch off theengine as I approach it. potentially a bad habbit. It is nice when approaching a bungalow at night so not to blind the people inside. IfI leave a window down, or roof open, I have to turn the ignition on.. this fires up the headlights, and all kinds of gizmos go whirr whirr unnecessarily. Some cars allow you to operate the windows until you open a door. That is a nice convenience. I am sure we have all switched off the car when someone in the back seat has not quite rolled up their window too....

No cars have the power windows working after ignition shut off.. that was the point of my post..
and ALL cars have global close (key in door) from the factory, but remote global close ( holding lock button on the key fob) is a dealer thing that is hard to get for free.....

Hey bojangles you state and I quote "No cars have the power windows working after ignition shut off..." I don't know if your stating no cars as being the jag or no cars as in no cars-in the world? My 01 escape's windows still operate with ignition off and in accessory which the jag does not. Could just be a jag thing......
