Default More door handle issues...

I have a 2002 x type and I have two issues with the door handles.

1- The passenger side door will unlock and lock all of the doors in the vehicle, however, the drivers side will unlock and lock all of the doors BUT the passenger side. I can hear the mechanics in the door clicking but the damn thing won't unlock. PROBLEM UN-RESOLVED...

2- Both the driver side and passenger side doors like to stick and are very difficult to open from both the inside and outside.. The problem has slowly got worse to the point that I cant even get in the drivers side anymore. I pulled apart both doors and sprayed a ton of WD-40 all over any moving parts and thus far problem seems to be solved. The doors do open much much easier from both inside and outside.

In all of this I do have some great news... both the rear doors open flawlessly everytime (knock on wood), however I have no kids and rarely to people ride in the back so that s pointless

Yep I have it on front passenger door of my 03 once in a while. People keep pulling handle from outside, and door won't open. Except it always opens from inside, but handle has to be pulled hard since its stiff. It's always been stiff since new. Some people try to open door and think its still locked. I have to tell them to just pull harder.

Actually it only took me about 10-15 minutes per door and I just sprayed a little WD-40 on all the moving metal parts and now its as smooth as a slip N' slide!

Hi Yester,
Did you manage to solve your # 1 issue with your doors?
I have the same issue and I went 8 times so far to the Jag dealership. I have to go back in two days for the same issue. They don't have any idea how to solve this issue. I need some help.
Thanks,
M

Martini...This is a common issue with the earlier X types.
Please do yourself a favour and read the X type quick FAQ link thread

there are more than a few posts in there on this subject. There'a a how to with pics on removing the door card and also another that shows the problem with the linkages that causes this problem which can be easily resolved!

Good luck
