Default The mud, the blood, and the beer

I would like to put OEM mudflaps on my 2003 X-Type, but the mudflaps I've found are supposedly not compatible with the Sport package, because of different body moldings on the car.
Is there a difference in the rocker panel and bumper facia moldings from a standard trim package X-Type and the Sport package?
Thank you.

Mike, the only difference in body panels between the different appearance packages was whether the body pieces were chrome or painted. The only performance addition that the sport got was 1.4" lowering springs straight from the factory.

So, in your case, by the mud flaps and install them. I am betting that you won't have a problem (by the way, I am a man that will not bet unless I am 100% sure I will win).

Thermo,
Thank you for responding. From the pictures I have seen online, the mudflaps look like they should fit; but it's always good to get confirmation from people like yourself, who have much more knowledge of Jaguars than I do.
I'll buy the mudflaps, and update this thread once they are installed.
Thanks again.

I installed the factory mud flaps on my car a month ago. It is an EZ job and they look good. If you need any photos please let me know.

PS I also only bet like Thermo too...

Larry-Cleveland,
Thank you for responding. The factory mudflaps look like they will fit correctly on my car, and should install easily, but the supplier says they will not "officially" fit Estate wagons, certain years of manufacture, or an X-Type sport.
If you can post photos, that would be great!

Hello Mike, I have the xtype sport with the factory mudflaps (2006 model) its a 4 door model.

Your dealer could be right about the estate model though as the flaps for it carry a different part No. Do a search on ebay uk for xtype mudflaps to see the part Nos.

rapala,
Thank you for responding. So far, everyone in this forum says the oem mudflaps will fit with no problem, so I will add them to my car very soon. I'm not sure why the supplier says they will not fit.
Maybe there is incorrect information out there, that gets passed on; and if repeated often enough, becomes "fact"!
Mike
