Hi i was driving this morning and suddenly realised the front passenger side airbag light came on then when i got to the car park and turn off the engine then turn it back on again at that stage the light's gone. What would be the problem? thanksin advance.

Was there anything on your passenger seat when the light went on?

If you read your owners manual, you'll see that the car disables the passenger airbag when it senses an object that's under (I think 75 lbs) on the seat - the idea is that a light object could be a child, and the airbag deploying would likely kill him or her.

So it's a safety feature, and is just telling you that the airbag has been temporarily disabled. No need to worry unless the light stays on when the seat is empty, or if an adult is sitting on it.

 

Yes i had my briefcase on the seat, thanks for the help much appreciated.
