I was wondering if anyone here has found any plug and play mods that would allow you to play alternative video sources like back-up cameras or DVD players on the 2002 Jaguar that has the Alpine Navigation system. If so where I have searched all night online without any luck!

I asked my dealer this when I purchased my vehicle in '05, and they said there is a module you can purchase that will allow the playing of DVDs through the Nav system.

I personally do not believe this because it is a huge legal issue for Jaguar if the built in navigation system can play movies.

Good luck in your search though. I would just call a dealer and ask.

they told me the same thing! Several makes now have a plug and play that allow you to plug in a back up camara which in theory would alllow you to play DVDs but with no sound since it is just a video input. Still on the search and in 5,000 miles my warrenty is up and maybe I will dig in myself and see what can be done!

Strange as some (rare though) X Types have TV built into the Nav-screens over here in UK (must have been a high cost option)
