Hate to resurrect old threads, but about how much does this grill cost from the dealership and painted? The one on Mina Gallery is ~$260 (Unpainted), For Adamesh ~$437 because it's overseas (UK) and it's painted, I think I'll pass on Adamesh and either try Mina Gallery or the dealership and see how much it costs from there, because I'd rather keep $180 bucks in my pocket and pay however much it costs to paint it from the dealer.

Also, does anybody know of any other outlets to get this grill?

i want one as well.
i was thinking about going with the regular black mesh inserts, but i'd rether have the 08 grille.

i dont have 500$ to spend on a grille though.
my wife would .. destroy me then i would have 2 Xs

if you go to jaguarparts.com and enter the 08 x type they sould send you the same grill.

chrome surround with chrome mesh - 433$
same for chrome surround painted
same for chrome surround and polished meshed

painted surround with black mesh - 556$

these guys are normally the cheapest dealer to buy from with authentic parts.

maybe the nelly jaguar guys can get it with the additional 15% off for forum members?

Why pay over $300 for it when you can get it from Mina Gallery for $260?

Yes, I ordered mine last Friday and it showed up yesterday, so it only to a week to show up. I spoke to the owner and received an additional "R Powered" Side/Rear Emblem. It came with primer paint on it and just needs to be painted to match my car ($100 from local Auto Paint Shop). I just have to figure out how to install it. Can anyone give me a detailed description of how?

The Mina Gallery version looks like they just took the regular painted surround and put regular mesh inside with a new 08 badge,

Well like I said I just received mine and it looks exactly like the ones on the 2008-09 X-Types. The image that Mina Gallery chose looks nothing like the one I ordered, the grill is actually embedded just like the one from adamesh. Just unpainted.

Again, can someone give instructions on how to install it on my Jag?

That is too bad. I liked the look of the tighter mesh in the Mina Gallery reference photo.

Just undo the four 10mm bolts from the underside of the bonnett. take out the old and bolt in the new.

And the reason it is quite expensive over here is there was no 08 so it is a part that has to be brought over from the UK to NA dealerships.

OK, so then if I understand you, the photo on the Mina website is not what you actually get, you get the Adamesh style (OEM style) one from Mina. Is the $100 you were quoted just for the paint or to paint the grille too?

If you get some time, perhaps post some pics of your install and final look?

Why would Mina not include mounting instructions with the part? Seems like an oversight.

Yes, you get the Adamesh style (Both actually aftermarket to also fit older style X-types, because the ones from the dealership fit only 2005 & up I believe). The $100 that I am paying is to have the grill painted to match my car. I will try to remember to post up before, during and after the installation of the grill.
I have no idea why they wouldn't include instructions, they just said it was "simple". But I looked under my hood today and have a pretty good idea of what to do.

I was thinking the same thing weeks ago. I got mine from Adamesh last year and can attest it is the real deal jag part (and mesh) and came perfectly color matched.

After actually taking a look at the grille, because last time I posted, I went based off of memory because it was in the shop being painted, it turns out that it is like the one in the picture. But many others have received the same ones from Adamesh from Mina Gallery previously, such as This Jaguar X-Type on Cardomain and This one as well. IDK why they all of a sudden switched to this style, at first, before installing it, I was disappointed because I couldn't return since it had already been painted. But now I'm starting to appreciate it, shoot, it was better than my last one.
I'll ask them why I received something that I didn't intend on buying(they recently changed that picture on their website from the 2008-09 OEM grille to what they have now days after I ordered mine btw).
Anyway, attached are pictures of how is how to install it.
