Need a definitive answer to the phone problem
So, I have a 2004 x-type sport 3.0L black on black with every option possible except navigation -- love the car (way better than the 1.8T quattro for the same price).
It has no phone or dock in the center console and it has all the phone buttons on the steering wheel/dash, is there a way to find out if it has the bluetooth module or not? Hitting the phone buttons doesn't appear to do anything and I haven't tried to search for bluetooth devices with my phone (htc tytn). If it does have bluetooth, what do I have to do to pair it with the phone, is there a button sequence that I have to push to accept it on the jag?
Thanks for any light shed on the matter.

04 X-Types didnt come standard with bluetooth. It was an accessory fit up to 2006 model when it became standard in the XJ and 2007 for the XK. If you do not have bluetooth prewire, then it will be tough to put it in. PM last 6 of VIN to me and I will look for yo.

so if I do a link up search with my phone and it does not find a blue tooth device then can I assume that it is not active? Or is there something you have to do to activate it in the car? The buttons are on my audio system, but they don't seem to activate anything.

RE: Need a definitive answer to the phone problem
I tried to send a PM but i'm not sure if you got it or not ;\ I don't see anything in the "sent" box.
Anyways, when I hit the phone button it says "no phone" which i'm assuming is indicative of it not having the bluetooth module... as to whether or not it was pre-wired, the last 6 digits are D91791.
Also, does anybody know which fuse is for the cigarette lighter? Mine seems to be non-functioning.

Sorry TG just read this post.
Checked your VIN. Voice activation pre wire, but no Blueteeth in your vehicle.
Nicely optioned car otherwise. Also to be perfectly honest, I would go aftermarket for your bluetooth. Heard Parrot is a good way to go.
Edit here: Also your warranty expires end of this month, so if you have anything at all needing fixed get it in there immediately.

RE: Need a definitive answer to the phone problem
you will need to have the phone module programmed by a jag dealer or a good jaguar specialist with the correct diagnostic machine ie IDS or Autologic. the phone module needs to be in the correct sequence to the other module on the fibre optic network.

Is a 2002 X-Type w/Nav w/Pre-wired Voice w/Factory phone Bluetooth Capable?
Did the 2002 X-Type with the "Pecus B" error in this thread successfully install the OEM Bluetooth?
Talking to Nalley Jaguar, we're thinking that such a 2002 (like mine) is compatible, but I would like to know for sure before taking on this project. Has someone installed Bluetooth successfully as this thread suggests? If I'm wrong, I can't return the parts, and will loose on the shop time to program the module.
I think a lot of 2002, 2003 owners would be interested to know.

I have a 2004 x-type and did successfully install bluetooth. I purchased all of the parts from Nalley Jaguar and was very satisfied with the customer service from Dan Wicker. My car has the satnav and also the prewiring for phone and cd changer. After installing the new optical harness (needed to add another module), phone module, bluetooth module, and microphone, I did have the "Pecus B" error. The phone was functional but I needed to go to the local Jaguar dealer and have the programming done. I am very happy with the addition of the bluetooth and also the fact that it is as the factory would have done it.

Thanks, I'm sure it works for 2004, but Jaguar says it won't work for 2002, however the person above seems to have gotten it to work.... Dan and I both feel that it will work given your 02 is equipped as above, and if so I think a few of us 2002 / 2003 owners would like to know and so add this to our cars. So has anyone been successful at installing it in an 02?
