Smile Need to replace cylinder 2 on '02 X type 3.0

Which one is #2? I have read both possibilities that from the front of the engine (passenger side) the order against the firewall is 1,2,3, and radiator side 4,5,6. The other way is 1,3,5 and 2,4,6? Can anyone tell me the correct way? Thank you!

cpagejag, first off, welcome to the forums. Lots of good info here and lots of people willing to help. But, please stop by the New Member Section and tell us a little bit about you and your car. We pride ourselves in being a better car group and as part of this, we like to get to know one another. This also benefits you in that you get to learn who the movers and shakers are around the site.

As for your question, since you are in the US, if you walk over to the passenger tire, you are standing at the "front" of the engine. The cylinders along the firewall are numbered 1, 3, and 5, with 1 cylinder being the one closest to you and 5 being the one furthest away. The cylinders nearest the radiator are numbered 2, 4, and 6, with 2 being the one closest to you and 6 being the furthest away (next to the battery box).

Thank you Thermo, I definitely will go to the new member section and share about myself and my Jaguar (so cool saying that!). I'm flattered to get feedback from you, I've actually been reading several threads pertaining to queeries of mine and you have been more than helpful already! Thank you for that and thank you for your help!

cpagejag, I have a very simple rule when it comes to what I post here. It goes like this: You have been helped, now, Pay It Forward and help someone else. Very simple throught process. I use this in my every day life and assist where I can. So, read, learn and keep the flow of knowledge going.
