Default New battery?

02 x type 3.0
My battery light turns on a lot. When a full diognostic was done on the car it stated "replace negative battery cable"... The battery passed the preformance test. I dont have any problems cranking or any elec problems... What is the problem with the cable?...

Battery cables can just die after a number of years. There are various reasons and ways for them to die. Sometimes removing the cable and wire brushing all contact points can buy some time...but a cable is so cheap why not just replace it once you,ve taken the time to remove it?
A bad cable can cause all kinds of electrical gremlins to occur...maybe not today...but.....
Go ahead and change the cable...the cat will love u for it :+)

Jagm, like was mentioned, cables do wear out. Think of a wire like a garden hose. The bigger the wire, the more it can flow. But like any hose, it can get oartially plugged. In the case of a wire, it can corrode and become thinner. This can lead to voltage drops during high current coditions. A good example is starting the car (about 125amps). If the car starts fine, but you are still having low voltage coditions, this can be caused by the power wire going from the battery to the fuse box or the ground wire going from the body of the car to the negative battery post. Both of these wires are different than what the starter use. A simple check you can do is to use a set of jumper cables and make a connection betwern the block of the engine and the body of the car. If the power issues are better, the ground wire between the body and the battery is bad. You can use this same idea for the other power wires of the car. Just need to make sure you do not short from the power to ground. If you do this, you will kbow as soon as the second end of the jumper wire makes contact.
