just acquired my first Jag - 2005 X-type Diesel Estate

No such animal this side of the ocean. The American car buying public hasn't discovered that diesels are not like old 70s Mercs any more!

Hello & welcome ...nice to see you here . I'm not a great fan of diesel Jags . If you join the UK Jag forum , you will notice by the threads on there , that a diesel Jag is not exactly the most reliable car in the world . ( However the 2.7 Diesel fitted in the S type , was a whole heap better )

Indeed, I haven't heard of a single diesel X-Type ending up in the US. You might want to check out the other forum as well (I for one am active on both) as they are far more numerous there.

I don't think the diesel is especially unreliable, at least compared to other diesels?
