Hi All,
I have been a member of this forum for about 4 years in the classic saloon section when I owned a 1964 Daimler V8. I have since sold that car and now have a 2005 sold 2006 X Type Luxury 3.0 L with 74000 on the clock. Color silver blue with tan leather.
I live in Queensland Australia.

Welcome!

Great car! The X types/S types and pre 2009 XJ’s are really the last connection with the older cars: the round lamp, the fluted bonnets and the copious amounts of wood paneling inside. Hope you enjoy it.

Welcome again David,

Spent the 70s in Bundy, but now just over the fence.
Sounds like you have a sister car to mine. Luxury spec 3.0L . . . although mine is a 2006 build and my paint code is MDZ Platinum.
Great model Jaguar and you have picked the best end of the production line.

If you have SatNav, see my thread re Denso Map Update discs in NSW or NZ regional forums.
Make sure you update Clarke and the crew in that great QLD Regional forum with your new cat.

Best wishes, mate,
Ken

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the welcome. I see you live in Inverell. My wife has a cousin in Inverell we have visited a number of times, an been to the motor museum there.
A bit of trivia when we retired in 2003 we bought a new x type but only the 2.1 l It was not the best car round town but ok on the highway. The 3 L we have now is much better to drive. It will not be a daily driver.
Regards,
David Bruce.

When next you plan to visit here, drop me a PM. If I'm not at our National Transport Museum, I'll be in my shed otherwise known as Ken's Catastrophic Cattery. Love to see you once border lockdowns permit.

That's not trivia mate . . . that's called 'essential preparation'

Cheers,
Ken
