You can turn on/off the message and the chime and reset the temperature threshold with the SDS/IDS software.
Mine is set so that the message is sent only below zero, and it clears as soon as I hit the buttob on the stalk.
The car also plings at me once at 34ºF and three times at 32ºF along with the ice warning message. I drive up and down through the mountains here, and you can drive in and out of freezing roads half a dozen times between here and the children's hospital...the pling helps to keep me from getting stupid!
