Default New transmissions in my 04 X-Type

My 2004 Xtype tranny bit the bullet and I got a brand new one from Jag. Its all installed (not by me). Do you have to do something with the ECU for it to learn the new transmissions? Because after everything was done (followed the Jag steps to the letter), it would not go into gear. Move the shift lever and nada...

I was told that this may have to do with a re-flash or something. Any thoughts?

86,000 miles. Its still not done.. The first tranny from the Jag dealer had no fluid pressure. Just got the new one from the UK last week. Its in and running fine, its been one big nightmare. To say the least, its getting traded in on a new car (No, not a jag). Never again.. Everything is super expensive and in most cases can only be had at the dealer.

I purchased a brand new one from a Jaguar dealer, $3300 plus installation. A friend of mine owns a shop and he is installing it. I have an extended warranty (not via Jaguar) and they are paying for $1800 of it (plus labor). I did not want some POS rebuilt. Then it's off to trade it in, my wife does not trust it anymore.
