Default New X Type Owner - Got A Question

Hey everyone, I haven't been on here for a long time, but I'm back with an X type!! Just a simple question here, what is the strange sensor type thing above the cupholder?? And also, (I know you are tired of hearing this question) when I press the phone button, nothing shows up on the display. Does this possibly mean that my Jag is equipped with a bluetooth/phone?

Thanks, loving the Jag,

6286

6286, as for the phone button, you need to have the phone holder installed in your car for this to work. If you look in the center console, you will see a place that you plug in a cell phone (if you car is equipped with it). If you don't have that holder, then you simply have a button in the car that doesn't do anything.

As for the sensor above the cup holder, I believe what you are talking about is nothing more than an LED that lets people know that there is an alarm system built into the car and it is watching.

Good to know. I am LOVING the x-type. We were almost home from the dealership, turning at a stop light and all the sudden we hear a horn blowing. We look over to see another X type owner giving us the thumbs up lol It feels nice

I thought you could have a bluetooth kit and have the phone work without any holder at all???????

All cars have the phone button, but you need to have either the bluetooth kit OR the built-in phone kit to make the button do anything.

the sensor thing in front of the cupholders it just the place where the DSC button/alarm light goes, cars without these options have a little grill thing, might be a coin holder?
I dont know the

Yeah tis for the traction control button, lights up if you hold it down which shows it is turned off. I've not tried using the phone button myself yet... dont think my car has any bluetooth kit either... another reason to be replacing the standard headunit

Mine does not light up. When I press the DSC button I get a message in the gauge cluster, but no light. There is the alarm light next to the button, it flashes when the car is locked and armed.
