Hi, I have owned my Xtype 2.2 s for 12 months and it is a pleasure to own. The thing is, I use it to take my British Bulldog for his exercise and him being a lump and all, he has split the leather on the rear seat. So my question is can anyone guide me to a goo supplier of nice parts ?
I have dealt with Auto Reserve Jaguar over there a couple of times and found them to be quite good to deal with for second hand parts.
You are in the right country for finding copious spare parts sources, unlike us out in the colonies.
Not a problem....I did look at your profile and noticed you were in the UK before initially replying.
Welcome to the forum and I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of your X-Type.
FYI, the diesel variants of the X-Type did not really find their way much outside of Europe, so if you have any engine questions in the future they might only be able to be answered by a smaller group of members here.
My replies are generally all of constructive nature - but in this case I have to make an exception:
A dog does not belong into a Jaguar! Get a Ute (=Pickup Truck).
I idea that you let your dog destroy a Jaguar hurts me inside.
Mark, I noticed you pic already back then - but I just hoped that this is not a Jag... - I think I tried to tell myself, that this just can't be a Jag, because a dog lives in there...
PS: It looks very much like a Blue Healer... A Blue Healer and a Ute go together like a horse and carriage - but not Blue Healer and Jaguar...

That is my Black German Shepard shown in my X-Type.
I have two layers of seat protection in all my vehicles so the seats do not get damaged by a claw or other such damage.
She is not a chewer, so only have the usual nose prints on the glass.
She doesn't mind travelling in the Jag.....although she wasn't so happy with me this morning when I dropped her off at the vet for an ultrasound examination.
I drive more sedately when she is in the car so as to not throw her around, so guess that is a collateral bonus on lesser maintenance costs overall!
OK, if you took ample of measure to protect the Jag from the dog, it's OK.
My wife always says, German Shepards are the ONLY dogs - she had one, when she was young and in another country.
She (the dog) was very well trained and also not a Chewer (in your sense above), but she was a chewer, when is came to people, who entered their property unannounced. No annoying barking, looked friendly, but if an intruder was, where he did not belong, he had a dog hanging on the arm... or butt...

Sorry to upset you about the dog being driven in my Jag, but he dose look cool 😎 👍 King Charles 👑 III We call him charlie Sorry Peter but a British Bulldog in a British car travelling on the A1 north. 🇬🇧🇺🇲🇻🇬
Peter,
I like to think carting a dog around in your Jaguar is why they made the X-type Estate, er, Sportwagon, ergo Shooting Brake! Lordlopp just needs to find himself a Shooting Brake and one of these: C2S40038 Loadspace liner. Maybe I would sell him mine? Ya know, one of the reasons we drive a Jaguar (if us males are honest) is because it's a babe magnet. Adding a dog to the mix makes it doubly so!!
...actually... - again, that dog with the crown above does not belong into the back of a feline car (=Jag).
They made special trucks for this breed of dog, Mack Trucks. Proof: Look at the hood-ornament...:
