Newbie needs help
Hey guys, I just bought a used 2005 X Type yesterday. Love it. My owners manual for some reason does not explain how to set the memory for the seat controls. Cant find info anywhere. 2nd question is there are 2 cables inside the center console that look like usb cables. At the bottom of the consloe inside there is a red and white plug connections that look like plugs in the back of a stereo or TV. What is this for? Cant find the info for these questions anywhere in the manual of on this forum. Thanks for any help.
Sounds like you have the Audio Connectivity Module installed. Check out the pic of an installed ACM in this thread...https://www.jaguarforums.com/m_29812/tm.htm

the jag owners manual are available online... have you searched at all? it pops up on google second from the top when i search for "jaguar owner information"
http://www.ownerinfo.jaguar.com/extf...prod/index.jsp
must be something about the seat there.
but failing that.. there are really only a couple of options.
if there is an extra button besides 1,2,3 (m?) then push that at the same time as the 1,2,3 to program it.
If there is no extra button, push and hold the 1,2,3 for a few seconds.... what else could it be?
have you tried anything? I would think that by trying a few things, you could figure it out faster than waiting for the rest of us!

here ya go.... From page 66 in the 2005 owner's manual for north america.
To store a driving position in thememory:1. Adjust the seat and door mirrors to thedesired positions.2. Push the memory button ‘M’ (seeprevious illustration). A chime willsound.3. Within 5 seconds of pushing the ‘M’button, push button ‘1’, ‘2’ or ‘3’ tomemorise the configuration. A doublechime will sound, and, if the ignition isON, a message will be displayed inthe message centre to indicate thatthe procedure was successful.By repeating these three steps andpressing the unused buttons, two moredriving positions can be stored in thememory. To set a new driving position, adjust thedriver’s seat and door mirrors andperform steps 2 and 3. The previousmemory will be erased and the newposition will be stored.Note: Button ‘M’ is concave, and there isa raised point on button ‘2’. This allowsthe buttons to be identified by touch.

additional info...
• Automatic transmission is set to ‘P’.
Recalling a memorised position
Ensure the gear selector lever is in
position ‘
P’ and the parkbrake is on.
Press and release the appropriate
memory button (‘
1’, ‘2’ or ‘3’). The seat
and door mirrors will move automatically
to the memorised position.
If the door mirror or seat position switches
are operated whilst the seat and door
mirrors are repositioning, the process will
be cancelled. Press the memory button
again to resume.
Note:
The memory function will only
operate if:
•
The parkbrake is on (manual
transmission only).
• Automatic transmission is set to ‘P’.
