Hello, I'm new to the forum and I'm at wits end trying to figure out this no crank issue..so I thought I would reach out to ask for help. I did a lincoln ls 3.0 swap into the car and she wont crank no click tick buzz comes from the starter when switch is in the start position. I've checked the cables and all appear to be good to the starter, alternator and battery as well as the ground to the chassis and tranny...I did clean them up to make sure and the battery checked out fully charged and good at autozone. In the interior when I have the key in the on position with all the dash lights on I do hear a bit of a whine...not sure if that means anything but it's there. Checked the inertia switch and it is depressed so that's not an issue either, I'm at a bit of a loss at this point because I checked the starter by using a screwdriver to jump the big and small terminal and she cranks great that way so def a good starter just gotta figure out why the signal is not getting to the starter from the switch. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated because this car is and 18th birthday gift to my nephew that we got for 1k as is and I've got to get it done by the 1st of August..mind you the car did run and drive before the swap but the motor had overheated several times badly oil looked like a chocolate milkshake..lol.

Hopefully some of the X guys will be along with ideas, my first thought would be the security system, but that's just a stab in the dark.

 

Well as embarrassed as I am I have to say I did solve the issue..apparently a helper forgot to screw the harness down to the ecu and as I was going thru double checking I caught it...she cranks fine now however the fuel hose popped off the fuel rail...so on to the next issue...
