Noise stops upon braking!

Noise stops upon braking!
I have a 53 X-Type. I have an issue, howling noise from the rear of the car, only noticeable when you traveling over 60mph (noticeably noisier at faster speeds). If I make a sharp right-jerk on the steering wheel, the noise totally disappears. Howl instantly returns when letting go of the right-jerk on the steering wheel. The noise also stops upon braking, but once you let go of the brake, the noise starts again! It is really annoying when driving on the motorway having to constantly put my foot on the brake to stop the noise.
I thought it maybe the right/left-rear bearing, but neither rear tires have any wobble-play in them. They seem very solid and tight, with no play what-so-ever. Can you have a wheel bearing going out, with no wobble in the hub, what-so-ever?
Any thoughtful hints as to what my problem is would be appreciated. I have changed the brakes, new brake pads, new discs.

Yaseen, try this first: While driving down the motorway, pull up on the e-brake lever a little bit to the point that you start feeling some drag on the rear brakes. Does the noise go away? If yes, then this confirms that the problem is in the rear. If no, your problem may be the front wheel bearings, not the rear, even though it may sound like it is coming from the rear. After that, I would still be looking at the bearings. Granted, could be a CV joint too. Does the noise come and go as you get hard on the gas and get off (say be driving at 60 mph, quickly accelerate up to 70 then let the car coast back to 60. If the noise changes, then this would be more towards a CV joint than a wheel bearing.
Let me know what you find out.
