Default O2 Sensor Replacement

So a common problem with the "check engine light" turning on is the o2 sensor eventually dying out. I checked with my local mechanic and he stated it was bank 2 that was the cause for the light to come on. My question is if this was an easy task to do.

I've spotted sensors that were universal and weren't a bad price at all, but then seen some in the hundreds.. So I really don't know what I should be looking for specifically.

Thanks guys.

If you know how to turn a wrench, you can replace both your o2 sensors easily. The only difference between a claimed OEM and a universal is that the wiring harness won't be the same. Basically, you may have to cut some wires and do some heat shrinking. If it were me and there wasn't that big of a difference in price from a basic wire one compared to a complete harness one, I would get the one with the harness. Other than that, any "brand name" that you've heard of before will be fine

My problem lies in Bank 2 Sensor 2 would be considered downstream on the left side (drivers side) if I remember correctly. So would any downstream sensor be alright to buy, or is there a specific one for each bank/sensor?

Jaguar Lower Oxygen Sensor Bosch 15626 | eBay

The link above is the sensor I think fits with my problem. Could you tell me if this is the correct part? Thank you.

I couldn't find if that is the downstream one, but the bosch part # for the upstream is 15627 so it's not the upstream. Have you tried rockauto.com yet? I just found a beck/arnley exact fit one that's one closeout for $70 instead of $120 which is much cheaper. Also, for parts like the o2 sensor where there are many different types, rockauto's catalog is MUCH easier to use
