Default OBD port not working?

I tried to read the codes on my 2007 2.0 I4 diesel X Type, but couldn't connect to the car's ECU.
I tried three or four different ELM 327 dongles and a Carista dongle, using two android phones with (paid/full) torque and the carista app, and my laptop with these bluetooth dongles and with a cable, with different software (Auto docter and Opcom, I know opcom is for vauxhall but I just tried),
I have connection with the dongles but they can't connect to the car's ECU. I get the same result everywhere.

Yes, these devices work on other cars.

The dongles light up, so I should have power at the connector.
Am I missing something? Or could this be a wiring problem? Can you do the "paper clip trick", where you short circuit two pins and the fault code flashes on the dash, as with some other brands?
Is there any other way, apart from using the computer from a jaguar repair centre, to check if my OBD port is fully operational, or is this just because it's using some obscure ford protocol that the dongles can't "translate" ?

I found this thread:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...nicating-3922/
but I can't find F72 or F80, they only go to F56 under the dash and to F38 under the hood ?

Thx!

kingnero, you will need to check 2 fuses. You need to check a 5 amp fuse in the passenger fuse box in the F25 position. This is the battery power to the OBD port. Then you will also need to check a second 5 amp fuse in the F32 spot in the passenger fuse box. This is for the switchable 12 VDC power. Either one of these not working will cause you to not be able to read codes.

Thx for the information. I just checked both fuses, both were OK.
What pins of the OBD connector do they go to? I checked for +12V between pin 9 and 16, that is OK. I suppose one of these fuses correspond to another pin?

It's a standard OBD DLC - lots of pinouts etc on the net.

If you prefer, the Jaguar docs are a free download (but quite big).
