Default OBD Scanner Recommendations

Can anybody recommend and OBD scanner for a 2001 manual 2.1 ?

There is one here for AU$33

Listed as a D900

2016 D900 Car CANBUS OBD2?EOBD Scanner Live Data Fault Code Reader Diagnostic

I am not sure if all OBD scanners are suitable for the x-type or for the 2001 ?

Thanks

Any ODB2 will be fine for a 2001 Jag - I have a different make but it works with my 2001 3 litre

I must admit that I do prefer the ELM237 type of tool now which works off the bluetooth on your phone and gives you a lot more data than a code reader - cheaper too

^Thanks

I would like something that lets you dump the data onto a PC if possible so you can chuck it in a spreadsheet.

Does such a thing exist?

elm327 if you can choose software that will log

(I don't use a "PC" by which I think you mean Windows PC.)

I was thinking maybe there might be a way to save the data and open it in a spreadsheet or something similar (like on a PC/laptop/MacBook etc.).

Like if the elm327 device maybe lets you save the data in CSV format, for example, then that file can be opened in any spreadsheet application on any kind of computer.
