Unhappy oil consumption

I have been on the blog today w/possible vacuum leak questions. NOW, I noticed I am down a quart of oil after 4000 mls and last time in shop they mentioned I was down a quart and as dry as a bone underneath.3.0 63,000mls. car has been running fine except an occasional drop in RPM at a stop (could that all be related to impending vacuum leak??) I do not note any smell of burning oil. Any thoughts?

Depends on how you drive the car,if you are driving hard most of the time, you will consume oil. If its just a quart at 4k miles then it is not out of line for a car with 60+k miles.
I change my at 3K or less so I don't see any loss.Others on the forum might have experiences that can help you out.
All of us should check their oil every 1500 miles, that way you can see if you have a large or small usage and add oil if needed.
