Smile Oil pan replacement

Has anyone changed an oil pan on a 2002 Xtype 3.0
What am I getting into if I do it myself?
Thanks any info is appreciated

it's pain to do in the air on a lift, especially if you have rusted out bolts. So I can only imagine it's a pain to do on the ground.

I haven't done it myself, but good luck with dropping the subframe, a good few bolts around the sump, dropping the exhaust out the way and of course getting oil all over yourself.

Check other threads on this list. Replacing the oil pan is really tough because one of the bolts is hidden under the transfer case and can't easily be accessed. Some people have drilled through the transfer case to reach it while someone else said, recently, that the were able to access it by bending the handle of an open-end wrench and being able to slip it into the space between the pan and the transfer case.

Investigate this further BEFORE starting to unscrew the accessible bolts...
