Angry OMG Can not open my bonnet / hood

:icon_v iking:

Hi all again as the title say's i can not open my bonnet it open's on the passenger side. iv pulled the kick pannel off and tryed pulling the cable harder. iv also tried pulling the bonnet up as the missus pulls the cable inside the car with no joy. Its looking like im going to have to get at the catch on the driver side some how. I was going to brake the grill but decided the head light would be in the way anyway.

As you can imagine the joy of owning a jag is slowly wareing out on me!!

Now the car is a 2001 x type sport 2.5 petrol and its black if that helps lol.

Any help as for how to get at it will be very much appreciated as my obd scanner and new lambda sensor should be here tomorow.

There have been a few members here that have had this issue. If I remember right, they ended up removing the tray under the radiator (the plastic piece that runs from the front bumper back to the front subframe) and then reached up in front of the radiator. From there, they used a screw driver to manually move the cable lever enough to get the hood to come undone.

Thermo's right. The only other 'hope' is to press down really firmly on the bonnet/hood just above both inner headlights and while doing so, get you ever-patient wife to operate the release lever. If this should work, ensure you thank her for being so clever!!

Mine is older so it's probably different, but I figured out how the angle was "off" and gave the pin a tap with a body hammer. No more sticking. (A very LIGHT tap-it was only off by maybe quarter centimeter, that's all it took for panic)
