Default Online Parts and Accessories Experience:

Other than E-bay for simple accessories like the side window shade for my x type, I usually relied on buying and installing accessories from my dealer. Interesting that the dealer closest to me (a mile or so from where I work and 2 miles from where I live!) also has an online store - but it's seamless.

Recently, I decided to give jaguarparts.com a shot. Needless to say the experience was the worst online shopping experience I have ever had!

1. They charged me immediately for the items ordered (OK)
2. Shipped me the wrong item (returned to them, but still no refund over a month later!)
3. One item was on backorder. In fact it is NOT available nationwide and there is NO WAY to cancel the order.
4. They ONLY offer contact via email and they WILL NOT respond to order cancellation emails...

Luckily my order was under $150 in total. But I'd like to warn anyone else who is considering using their service to order accessories. Would also like to know if anyone has had a 'great' experience with an online store...

I can highly recommend
www.jagbits.com

www.britishparts.co.uk

www.motorcarsltd.com

These 3 sites above never let me down for my parts needs .
You can also use Nalley (our vendor ) and Jpam (vendor )

Bummer aluni, that's why we tote our vendors with the greatest enthusiasm:

- Dan at Nalley Jaguar takes our calls on the phone, frequents the forum here, and makes sure we get the right parts when we need it. Plus, the 15% discount is fantastic.

- Gaudin Jaguar Parts recently started supporting the forums also, and their interactive system is pretty cool for checking parts prices.

Ken @ motorcars ltd that Caddie linked above - I always plug his company also, he's somewhat local to me and has found a couple salvage parts for me, and a few new parts as well in the past.

If these guys can't get me parts (which rarely happens) then I go elsewhere.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I looked at the site, they do have a telephone number (click on the red phone). http://www.jaguarparts.com/tollfree.html Will they not discuss the problem on this line? Although it looks odd that they seem to have two different site formats going on or something.

But anyway, I've done well with Motorcars Ltd and jagbits in the past. Thanks for sharing your experience about this seller.

aluni, I have ordered 2 different times with http://www.jaguarparts.com and have had great luck with them. Quick shipping, great prices. I am surprised to hear what you are experiencing. Granted, I do know they are somewhat of a stickler when it comes to "if you want the online prices, you need to order online". I don't get that, but it is their rules.

As for getting your money back, I would contact the credit card you bought the part(s) on and see what they can do for you.

I have also ordered parts through "Ken@britishparts.com". Good luck with him too. He will tell you the skinny about any part before he even orders it. Good people to deal with. May not be the cheapest, but when he says he can get it and it will be a certain way, you can count on that.
