My wife & I enjoy long road trips in the X , however it is inconvenient if we pick up drinks & snacks along the way. Has anyone come up with a device to change that single holder into a twin ? Pic's would be good if you have them.

I'm not sure about the x-type but the S-type has one cupholder behind the gear shift and another inside the centre glove box. Why they put it there is anyone's guess! Been trying to think of a way to but twin holders where the single is. Was thinking maybe a piece of plastic pipe that would fit inside the single holder, then two pieces attached on top of it. I have the concept in my brain, just have to implement it.

It would be an easy job. I've taken mine out before and it only takes a few minutes

By the way, there are some on eBay in the $100-$150 price range

 

Check E-Bay or some junkyards for the newer style console that has two cup holders. I am not sure if they were updated in 2004 or 2005. I know it has been done and if you do a little searching on here I'm sure you can find it. If I remember correct it is a plug and play sort of thing.
