Default Overtorqued/ destroyed lug nuts

Ah, minimum wage! My lugs have been seriously overtorqued (impact at warp speed, captain!); I managed to remove all but two. I can tap on a 19mm six point socket, but the cap on the lug just spins. On of the caps looks malformed from a twelve point socket. If I split the cap and remove them, what size socket fits over the bare lug? Many thanks!

geoff, not sure what size fits on like you are talking about, but you may find that you will end up using an alternate method. I would think that something like an 18MM socket would do what you are after. If you need an alternate method, e-mail me as I have an option, but I don't like putting it out for everyone to see since this method can be used for not so nice things.
