P01093 and CEL, loss of power?
Hi gang, so, in December I finally got around to replacing my Intake Gaskets, upper and lower, and replaced the Spark Plugs at the same time. Car RAN GREAT! Until last week.
Wife informs me she has a CEL light on. I drove it and I perceived a loss of power (but not sure) and a day or 2 later, the CEL light went off, and again I perceived power to be back at normal levels.
CEL back on, so I read the codes. P01093 ("Fuel Rail Pressire Sensor A Current High Input"), and P1000, (which I think is "end of codes")
I've searched through the forums this morning and found several discussions, (but mostly on the V8 engine) that narrows it down to
1) Bad Sensor
2) Open wiring
3) Vacuum Leak (V8 engine) on a cracked hose
Remembering back, I remember when I did the gaskets that 1 or 2 of the wiring loom plastic clips that connect to the sensors fell apart when I disconnected them due to age/heat/being brittle. I was as careful as I could be, but did not damage them enough to warrant replacement. I connected them firmly, and even put a wire tie around one to ensure it stayed clipped in place. Now I'm wondering if those sensor connections are "loose", causing the on again/off again CEL light.
And Fuel mileage has suffered noticeably according to the wife.
On the Jaguar X-Type 2.5L does anyone know where the Fuel Rail Pressure sensor is located as looking at it from the front of the car? (I suspect it's in the front on the right of the injector rail? (That's where the connector I had the most problem with and tie-wrapped it is located).
Does this sensor go bad often?
TIA
