Default P1338 Fuel Pump Control Module (No Start)

So I got the non-running Jag I bought last week all put back together, cleared the 46 trouble codes in the computer, swapped out the crank position sensor, coolant temp sensor, coils, plugs, valve cover/intake gaskets and tried to get it to start and it just cranks and cranks.

Gave it a few shots of starting fluid to make sure it was getting fuel and still nothing.

After clearing the codes, tried to start it and then pulled the trouble codes and it's got two P1338's and P1000 that will not clear.

Does anyone know if the fuel pump control fault will keep the ignition system from firing? I thought that even if it's not getting fuel or the control module was bad that it should still fire up with starting fluid if everything else is working correctly (right?)

Lifted the rear seat on the drivers side and checked the wiring and plugs to the module but I don't want to throw a new fuel pump or fuel pump control at it until I'm sure that's it.

Anyone have any tips or pointers?

Thanks!

Had 3 codes originally P1338, P1000, and another P1338. Checked the inertial switch in the front passenger area and it appeared to be tripped, now it's only showing two codes, P1000, and P1338 so I'm making a little progress, but it's still not starting or even acting like it's wanting to fire the plugs at all.

Update #2: Found the mini fuse F81 20 amp for the fuel pump control module under the dash was blown. No longer have the code 1338, the fuel pump appears to be cycling but still isn't firing over. Will have to pressure test system tomorrow and then see if I can figure out why the ignition system isn't firing. It makes me wonder why the relay was tripped and the fuse was blown in the first place... hmmm....

Only code it's registering now is P1000 and that's for the O2 sensors not having run a complete cycle yet so that shouldn't have anything to do with the no start problem.

Getting closer....

Do yourself a big favour and look the codes up in JTIS then you'll see meaning+causes.

SUCCESS!!!

Figured it out this morning, two more fuses in the fuse block were blown F82 Alternator, and F92 cruise control clutch switch, ignition coils, automatic transmission rotary switch.

Swapped them both out, put in some fresh gas and it fired right up. WOO HOO

Drove it for a few miles and I still have some work to do before I hand the keys over to my daughter, it's got a knock sensor code and P1155 that I can't seem to find in the code chart, along with an ABS light and one of the accessory pulleys is noisy so I'll have to get that all sorted first, but it's running and driving so I'm very happy today..

Congrats! Sounds like she'll be back to top shape soon.
I do wonder about those fuses though.

Took it on a shakedown ride, looks like it's going to be down for a few more days. Need to replace the knock sensor, front wheel bearings, figure out whats causing the gearbox fault and incorrect gear 5 ratio codes, and then get the ABS/Brake lights to go out. After that it should be just about finished, but it's nice to know the engine runs well and it goes nicely down the road.
